A text from Paul Allen early this afternoon, Wyre Forest District Council Countryside Conservation Officer, alerted me to the birth of a second calf on Wilden Marsh. The herd was again grazing around South Pool when I arrived, and I could see only Tulip’s calf. Tulip was grazing with the herd at South Pool this afternoon, but there was no sign of her calf – she had hidden it. Tulip being a trusting cow, walked me to the far end of the pasture to see her calf in its hiding place.
