WE WANT TO STAY IN NORTH PASTURE.
The cattle have moaned for more than a week to access Middle Marsh. So I strengthened Middle Wood boundary fence and waited for Storm Christoph to pass. On a brilliant frosty morning, I opened North Pasture gate and called the herd. Tulip went in first, closely followed by Brutus. The last cow through the gate was Rosebud, but she quickly decided it was too cold in Middle Marsh and promptly led the cattle back into the warmer North Pasture. Shetland and belted Gallow cattle are very hardy breeds, that huddle under trees when it rains and walk around puddles rather than get their hooves wet.
