Flooding on the Last Workday Before Christmas
The Rangers managed to walk the herd from the Rhombus Field and lock them in North Pasture yesterday afternoon – where I failed. The River Stour did break its banks last night and flood the marsh, but the waters were flowing back into the river by the time I left for home this afternoon. All cattle were present and correct in North Pasture; they were unsettled and moaning. I gave them access to the Flooded Wood Pasture, but they were still clingy and followed everywhere I went. I left them bellowing at North Pond Pasture gate. I’m probably too soft with them.
The iPhone video below shows today’s ground conditions.
