Balsam Munching in the South Marsh Entrance Section

The herd has spent most of this year on the north marsh in the Hoo Brook pastures and Swamp. The cattle are now on Himalayan Balsam eating duty on the south marsh. Hillary Road Field has been cleared of the invasive plant, and now the South Entrance Section is the next job for the marsh herd.

This evening I opened the gate from Hillary Road Field to the entrance section and called the cattle through. I videoed the event for prosperity and my records. When the balsam here has been eaten, the herd can move north to Falling Sands Nature Area.
