Moving the Marsh Herd
It’s a beautiful morning, and I’m moving the marsh herd from Top Field to Hillary Road Field to eat Himalayan balsam growing there. In a few days, the cattle will be dealing with balsam in the South Entrance Section. By the middle of next month, they will be back in Falling Sands Nature Area at the far north of the reserve.
Hillary Road Field is tightly packed, shoulder height, with vegetation, which made hard work of checking the boundary fencing earlier.
It is always interesting to read about the work the cattle do.
Cattle are an important conservation tool, Anne.
I love your cow videos. 😊
