Yet Another New Arrival

Tulip was waiting for me at the gate when I arrived at Falling Sands Nature Area this evening. She was twitchy and I suspected she was itching to show me another new calf, and she was. Yesterday’s and today’s calves were lying down together. That’s two calves in two days so far. The cows must have waited for me to return from holiday.

They are so cute. We can’t get close to the free range calves at The Holler. The bulls won’t allow it.

    • We get a bull in for a few months, long enough to do his job, and then move him on somewhere else, Cindy. We try to use a new bull each season, and so far they have been very well behaved.
