I’ve been away on a wonderful seaside holiday in south west Wales for the past week, with my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, 200 miles from the marsh. This year was the first time we experienced excellent weather for our annual welsh holiday. The weather on the marsh has not been so good, though, with frequent thunder, lightning and heavy rain.
On my return, I went onto the marsh to check the herd and we’ve had a new arrival: a tiny calf resting peacefully amongst the cattle. Almost immediately, Bluebell seemed to lay claim by touching the little fellow with her nose. The calf was so much at ease that I didn’t have the heart to disturb it. The calf looked up at me several times so was aware of my presence, but not at all phased by it. Life keeps rolling on Wilden Marsh!
