Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula)

I photographed this large red damselfly this evening, one of many resting in an elder bush on Hoo Wood Ridge, far away from water. I wonder if these are from down on the marsh? In past years I have seen emperor dragonflies along Hoo Wood Ridge too.
