Female Mosquito

The biting female mosquitoes are out in force around Hoo Wood today; they only bite humans because they need the proteins found in blood to lay their eggs. The male doesnt have the probiscus to bite you; it feeds on flower nectar.

    Great photo! The biting “things” are all out in abundance this year. I much rather look at photos of them than the aftermath of their presence!
