What a wonderful sight. I’ve always loved Canada Geese and they seem to crop up in films or on the internet regularly for me (even though we obviously don’t get them in Australia).
I was really pleased to see gaggles of Canada geese parading on the marsh, because it announces a new breeding season.
We have Canada geese here in Sweden since they were introduced to Sweden in 1927. I live uín south of Sweden, and here they are in the winters, and they breed most in the northern part of the country.
We have Canada geese throughout the year on Wilden Marsh, John; they are very common.
We used to have Canada geese flying over our house below Hoo Wood morning and evening. They stopped within days of the settlement ponds being filled in.
The bird’s I miss most however are the hundreds of swifts I used to see soaring above the woods they are a rare sight now
There is usually a skein of Canada geese flying over the marsh in the mornings and returning in the evenings.
