The Wilden Marsh Blog

Monthly Archives: July 2017

It’s 1st July and time to move the herd from the south to north marsh. The video follows the cattle on their mile long journey from the south marsh entrance section to the north marsh and Hoo Wood Pasture.

A robber fly is any of the predatory dipterous flies constituting the family Asilidae, which have a strong bristly body with piercing mouthparts and which prey on other insects. Also called bee killer and assassin fly. Dioctria, including the Stripe-legged Robber fly (Dioctria baumhaueri), whose preferred prey are small ichneumonid wasps, tend to be rather delicate insects.
