Bluebells

IMG_4298 1

I’m looking at bluebells mostly at the moment in Hoo Wood. I’m hearing increasing amounts of bumblebee buzzing in a particular part of the wood; it sounds like a swarm, but it’s a nest waking up. The buzzing sound is coming from deep within a thick bracken tangle and there are bumblebees flying in and out. The nest is very close to flowering hawthorn and apples trees, as well as gorse, broom, periwinkles and daffodils.

There is increased buzzard activity around trees in Dark and Hoo Woods.

  1. Beautiful – and it is good to see bumble bees as they are so endangered.
