Raiding a Hornets’ Nest
The first thing Mike and I saw when we walked into the Middle Wood this morning was that an animal had raided a hornets nest is a hollow oak tree, leaving pieces of comb scattered around the tree.

Any idea what the thief was?
I think the thief was a badger, Sarah.
Wondered if they’d left tracks or claw marks for you! Yes, badger sounds like a good candidate. They’re determined enough!
Brave badger!
Not at this time of year, Ratty.
Clever badger 😉
