Hoo Brook Wood Polecat.
This is a camera trapped image of a polecat taken in the Hoo Brook Wood.
I have improved contrast courtesy of a pair of tights, provided by my wife, stretched over the infrared camera flash to reduce its intensity.
Having kept and used polecats as a lad, I have a soft spot for them, and I could tell many stories involving polecats and rats. This one is a real beauty.
Brilliant shot, very inventive use of a pair of tights.
Thanks David. I will try anything to get decent images from budget camera traps.
That is gorgeous. I have never seen one.
And on my doorstep, too!
Clever use of the tights! Certainly makes a difference. I have a soft spot for polecats too 🙂 Such a distinctive and dear little face!
