I think most of my honey this year has come from bramble. It’s finished flowering in London now and we even have some black blackberries already.
We have blackberry here, too, but the are bitter at the moment.
Do you have Himalayan balsam in London, Emily?
We do. I know you battle against it, but it’s quite useful for the bees here!
Himalayan balsam is useful for the bees on the marsh, Emily, it’s one of the first plants to appear and one of the last to go. Luckily, the cattle like it too.
