Northern River Pasture.
Sunrise: 08.00 Sunset: o4.39
This image shows a section of our recently improved Northern River Pasture, with its new stock fence and gates. I am now able to walk the entire length of the northern marsh at night without fear of falling in the river; the same goes for the cattle, I’m please to say. The cattle now have access to the new Hoo Brook and Northern River Pastures, the Swamp, the North Pasture, North Pond, two wooded pastures, and the North and Middle Corridors. There are seven other grazing area on the South Marsh – fortunate beasts to have such varied grazing options. The old steel pipe bridge that once carried soil laden water from the sugar factory over the canal and river to the lagoon field, can be seem to the right of the image. In the height of the growing season, this pasture has been almost impassable with it tall and tangled vegetation; the cattle are the conservators here.
