Lovely shot.
Great detail.
Thanks, Vicki.
I love your butterfly shots! How do you get them to stand still? 😉
Thank you, Inga. Since I use a 60 mm macro lens, I get really close to a butterfly; so close, sometimes, that I could reach out and touch it.
I use a few techniques to help me get close to the butterfly. The main ones are:
1. I approach the butterfly with the camera held to my eye.
2. I hum quietly in a low monotone, I think they feel the vibrations in the air. Silly as it might seem, it works for me.
3. I make sure that the butterfly doesn’t see my shadow.
Thanks for the tips! Maybe I should try humming next time 🙂
Be sure to choose a soothing tune, Inga.
