Sunrise: 04.47    Sunset: 09.36 Today was June’s Wilden Marsh Conservation Sunday Workday: a very hot, sunny, and sweaty workday. The task was reopening a 2 metre wide, very overgrown,  track-way along the southern  end of the North Pond chain.  So, saplings, small trees, brambles, and thistles were removed with bow saws, long-handled slashers and loppers – a high energy, but healthy activity. Sunrise: 04.47    Sunset: 09.36 Looks like a female Common Awl Robberfly (Neoitamus cyanurus). has caught a crane fly, and a male snipe-fly has taken advantage.
