Working for the government no doubt ๐
I don’t think the government uses heron, Alex. I think the scout is working for the heronry.
Great shot!
Thanks, Julie.
Big Brother. ๐
Doesn’t it look big against the roof tiles?
๐ Quite scary!
Ha! There’s been a Heron visiting my parents estate and it perches on the roof opposite! Never when I’m there though ๐ Interesting to see another one on a roof!
I wonder if there is a pond in the garden of the house opposite to your parents’?
I’m not sure any of the gardens there are really big enough for a pond! The River Mole is close by though.
Maybe the heron was having a rest, Sarah. Herons at Wilden Marsh prefer to avoids people. I think the one in my post was interested in what tasty tit-bits might be in a neighbours pond.
Ah, now I hadn’t thought of that! The river circles around Cobham so I suppose roof tops could well be good resting places if the heron was crossing the village. Thanks Mike!
Great shots Mike.
Thanks, Joyce.
Wow this is an awesome picture, I love the contrast between the bird and the roof and I especially love to see birds whose feathers are in a disarray haha
Thank you, Jay. I appreciate your comment, and I am glad you like the images.
Fantastic captures! Quite fascinating to see this big bird on the roof.
Thanks, Inga. I think a tree branch is a safer perch, but wings allow a bird to experiment.
