Greater Spotted Woodpeckers.
Sunrise: 07.45 Sunset: 04.06
Walking past North Pond yesterday, I heard rotten wood being wrenched apart on the opposite side of the pond, a few meters south of the lightning tree. I waited and listen for five minutes or more, and then a greater spotted woodpecker popped up from the ground. After seeing the first one, I spotted half a dozen on various parts of the marsh. Long tailed tits were also in abundance in trees along the river.
