I’ve just ordered myself a 70-300 f4-5.6 DG Macro so hoping that I can get some better stuff.
Excellent! Do you think you have the macro bug, Alastair.
I love doing macros. I always thought that you needed to get really close to do a macro. This says it does the best macro at 200-300 mm. Throws apart what I knew. It’s a bonus that it was £100 ($154) off 😀
I get really, really close to my buggy subjects. If I get any closer, the insects will be in danger of being squashed by my lens. 😀
That’s what I try to do. Unfortunately, I only have fixed lenses for my macros. I would love a close up one as well. I’ll manage it one day 🙂
Whilst photographing an insect earlier in the week, a honeybee flew into my ear – gave me a bit of a shock I can tell you. A honeybee in one’s ear is amazingly loud; fortunately, it found nothing of interest and flew out without causing me too much distress. It was a little like nails down a blackboard, though.
YEEOOWW!!! Did you go all ninja like? lol
No! In fact, I took the photograph as the bee flew from my ear. I get transfixed, so it takes a lot to fully break my concentration when I’m looking down my macro lens. 😀
