I can’t bear these anywhere near me Mike, but it’s a wonderful photo of a dramatic insect.
How can the Foraging Photographer be freaked out by a tiny tiger crane-fly, Lucy? A Foraging Photographer is out poking about in the hedgerows and clumps of vegetation; in fact, just the places where the insect hang out. 😉

Great image of a wonderful looking insect. I’ve never seen one of these ‘up north’, how common are they?
I have yet to find one of these intriguing fly’s 🙁 Maybe soon or next year I will see one
