    • I like amazing you, Alastair. I am not doing anything special, and you can do it too; I’ve seen your images.

      • I use a Nikon D3000, 18-55 lens with a macro lens. Sometimes on a tripod. So the only thing I can think of is that the camera is that I am not that good with the close ups. I have an array of macro lens’s. Theh filter types that screw on to the end. I have 2 of 1x, 2 of 2x, 2 of 4x and three of macro. I have attempted auto focus and manual focus.

      • I don’t know, then. Maybe it’s because I shot manual with flash most of the time.

      • Could be. I have my new external flashes now, so that may make a difference

      • Hmm. I brought a macro book in the last couple of days, I’ll see if that can tell me anything that will help

      • If it does give you any pearls of wisdom, perhaps you could let me know.

      • Yep, Will do 🙂 And the one from today is a macro bit the edges are out of focus

  1. Great photo of a Skipper butterfly (not sure which one!).
I’ve just stumbled across your blog and I’m currently going through your back posts and enjoying them a lot. Keep up the good work, I like being inspired.
