What has happened to his tail? It isn’t sticking up.
This is a female scorpion fly, Joyce. The last section of the female abdomen, the clasping organ, does not curl upwards as much as that of the male fly.
Oh, thanks Mike. I only became aware of scorpion flies a couple of weeks ago. I am not an expert on the subject 🙂
