Out of almost 20,000 lichen worldwide only 2 are poisonous, Wolf Lichen and Powdered Sunshine Lichen. All others MUST be boiled first before consuming otherwise your stomach will have you in agony for awhile…. they are high in acids and if you do not boil them, then soak them in water and baking soda for a few hours first.
Looks so sweet. Can we eat?
All UK lichens are believed to be edible (or at least not poisonous) except for Wolf Moss. Don’t take my word for it though.
