      • Umm … maybe it’s only in death? Then again, the similarities and dissimilarities between Australian bugs and English bugs can be confusing. We have a ‘crusader’ beetle very similarly armed (though different heraldry to your shieldbug) which has a peculiarly pungent smell, especially if you inadvertently step on it, or squash it somehow (as I’ve been known to do in the garden!).

      • Maybe, but there is nothing strange in that; we all stink in death. ๐Ÿ˜€
