Spider floating in the darkness.
5th November 2012:ย I think spiders look their best highlighted in inky darkness, leaving us no option but to concentrate on them when they are the subject of an image. It might not be generally realised that spiders descend from ceiling cracks, and from their invisible webs, on silken threads, whilst people sleep soundly in their beds at night. The spiders are searching for bed mites activated by body warmth. I guess it must be a matter of “out of sight being out of mind.”
excellent photo – creepy looking spider though
Thank you. Another arachnophobia sufferer. You have been living with spiders all your life and they still worry you. Never mind! ๐
If they keep the bed mite population down and I wake up with no spider staring at me I am happy.
I can’t guarantee that you won’t wake up with a spider on the tip of your nose, Alex. when the inevitable happens, just blow it off. ๐
I still don’t like them ๐
Never mind. The spiders are looking after your house. ๐
Yikes! Jeez Mike you make that thing look HUGE! ๐ฏ
Cool shot ๐
Thanks, Phil. The spider is 3 mm long, not including it’s legs.
Well I’ll be sleeping well tonight thanks Mike…

I just can’t imagine a foraging photographer being afraid of spiders. I don’t think spiders will spoil your beauty sleep, Lucy. ๐
