Swallow Wort.

13th October 2012: There are still plants flowering here; I just need to look harder.

  1. Swallow Wort isn’t in my book; is it a local name do you think? Working through the key in my reference book, the closest I can come to it is Green and Black Nightshade (based on the shape of the leaves I’d guess black). Were there green (at first but later turning black) berries did you notice?

    • No it’s not a local name, James. I’m not absolutely now sure that this is swallow wort; there seem to be so many varieties. I didn’t notice any berries. The flower is very small.
