Be careful what you wish for Gary. If you had one Himalayan balsam plant in your garden, it wouldn’t be long before most of Australia would be covered with them. What a popular chap you would be! 😉
Now that is a silly notion, Gary. The Himalayan balsam might arrive in Australia the same way as it arrived in the UK: some thought it was pretty and wanted one for their garden! 😉
You are as near to Australia as I am, Gary. If Himalayan balsam can escape from a garden and invade the UK, it can do so almost anywhere in the world. All it takes is couple of balsam plants in a pot, a bee, and bingo they are growing everywhere. 😉
