I do believe I’ve seen this guy in a movie. I believe someone used him to develop a character from another world. I’m almost positive they used this fly as inspiration.

I imagine insect macro photography is the main inspiration for the people who design the science fiction characters.
Thing looks like some kind of futuristic robot.
