  1. Wonderful photos, and thanks for the “explanation”. It helps me understand better about different choices. 🙂 Both fantastic shots in their own right.

  2. Ditto… Very helpful, thanks so much for the detailed specs. I’m actually in the process of comparing, and with the $$, it’s quite daunting. This helps.

    • It is a damselfly, Anne. These images were taken using different lenses. I posted the images for quality comparison. I have had comments about the lenses I use. Thank you for your comment. 🙂

  3. Thank you for taking the time to write this post. I’m more than likely going to give the Sigma a try and this was very helpful.

    • Well the Sigma has served me well. I taken many thousands of images using it, and it has done the job faultlessly. I treat my equipment roughly, too. I’ve knock and dropped the camera and lens many times, and they just keep performing.

I hope to get many more years use from the Sigma.

  4. Wow 2 completely different settings for essentially the same result even the depth of field is very similar the only place the slower shutter speed is evident is on the tail of the damsel fly in pic 2, Cool photo and comparison.
