I’ve seen geese and other cranes stand around on one leg, which I always find amusing, but I’ve never seen them swim with a leg on their back like this. Is that something they normally do?
Love both the pose and how you got the whites right. I find that very hard to accomplish. I currently have small chances of seeing trumpeter swans. A few of them nest here at Malheur NWR in east Oregon.

It’s not unusual for swans to lounge about with one or two feet on their backs, particularly when they have cold feet.
Interesting. Thanks.
Actually, swans will swim with one leg resting on their back.
Beautiful.
(I see most birds stand on one leg in the Botanic Gardens – mainly in the afternoon between 2.30 and 4.30pm – must be their afternoon nap).
Thanks, Vicki.

Thank you, Marilyn.
